When will graduation reservations open?

Reservations open for graduation a month before each graduation date. Spring (April 5th), Summer (July 5th), Fall/Winter (November 5th).

We will no longer require a deposit for reservations. Although, please be aware that your card information will be on file in order to hold your reservation.

The tasting menu at 1856-Culinary Residence can be customized for most allergies and dietary restrictions. Please list all of your allergies, preferences and dietary restrictions on your reservation. We will also be in communication 48 hours prior to your reservation to confirm all details.

We do require 72 hours notice advance in order to accommodate all requests. If you are booking less than three days in advance and/or if you have severe allergies, we ask that you contact us prior to booking at [email protected]

We take great care to prevent cross-contamination in our kitchen. However, common allergens are used throughout our kitchen in close proximity to other ingredients.

We do not have a dress code, but many of our guests wear “elevated casual.” Jackets are not required, though many guests do opt to wear them.

1856-Culinary Residence is a teaching restaurant and majority of our tables are 4 tops and cannot be combined. If you are interested in a large party buyout or booking our private dining room, please email [email protected]

We do not permit outside alcohol inside 1856- Culinary Residence.

All dinner reservations will include a 20% service charge and 9% tax. The service charge is split between all hourly team members in the front of house.

Gift cards can only be used for charges incurred at the restaurant.

Gift cards may only be purchased inside of the restaurant Tuesday – Saturday from 11:00AM to 7:00PM. 

Upon arrival at the restaurant, guests in possession of a gift card should inform their server. The gift card can be used to cover charges incurred during the dining experience, up to its value.

Any remaining balance after the dining experience can be used for future visits.

Guests can utilize the complimentary valet parking located at The Laurel Hotel and Spa.

1856 – Culinary Residence is a small, intimate teaching restaurant, we do not admit children under the age of 12 to dine in the restaurant. Children’s menus cannot be accommodated.

Our lunch changes seasonally and our dinner tasting menus change every 4 weeks.

For 2025, we will be open on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve. We will be closed on Christmas Day.
